Refrigeration Without Electricity

Adam Grosser talks about a project to build a refrigerator that works without electricity — to bring the vital tool to villages and clinics worldwide. Tweaking some old technology, he’s come up with a system that works.

    Wonderful! I remember the old propane refrigerators that operated on this principal (which I believe carried the Crosley label). I lack the time, resources and expertise to develop the concept, but I’ve wondered since the 1970’s why concentrated solar heat isn’t being employed to drive this type of compressor to provide air conditioning. Seeing this video leads me to suspect you may be working on just such a thing.
